Controls and Monitoring

The DZero online group has selected selected the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) as the core of our control system. To fully use EPICS in the DZero environment additional support must be provided. Areas of needed support include:

• Hardware database - stores hardware configuration data
• Downloading - transfer data to hardware through EPICS
• Environmental monitoring using rack monitors
• Low voltage power supply control
• High voltage power supply control
• Clock control
• Alarm system
• Secondary data acquisition system
• EPICS extensions

Detector Liasons

Members of the group are assigned as liasons to different sub-detectors. Their role is to facilitate the integration of sub-detector control and monitoring into the DZero control and monitoring framework.
