June '99 Online Workshop
June 3-4, 1999 at Fermilab
Introduction:
The Online Group will be hosting a workshop in early June '99 for the
purpose of introducing the Run II Online system to those people in the
detector hardware groups who will be contributing to detector control and
event monitoring software. This will be a true workshop, with an
emphasis on tutorials and hands-on opportunities to develop detector-
specific applications.
Why you want to attend!
Have you been (or will you be) charged with software support for
a DØ detector sub-group? Does this include either the computer
control of the detector or require active real-time monitoring of the
detector's performance? Are you unsure how to proceed?
Come to the Online workshop and learn how! We will demonstrate
example control and monitoring applications, describe how they
work, then guide you through the changes/customizations needed
for your specific needs. This is your best opportunity to have
expert guidance and assistance!
Workshop Goals:
- to demonstrate the operation of the DØ Online data acquisition
system, from single front-end crate readout through to event unpacking
and real-time monitoring
- to demonstrate the operation of the DØ Online control system
- to identify those members of the detector groups who will contribute
to control and monitoring software development
- to critique existing applications
