Michael Strang's Homepage

You have reached the homepage of Michael Strang. I am a Postdoctoral Associate with the experimental high energy physics group at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my PhD and wrote my thesis on "First observation of dijet events with an antiproton tag at root(s) = 1.97 TeV using the DØ Forward Proton Detector". I am interested in QCD phenomena (in particular diffractive physics) as well as precision electroweak measurements. I am currently based at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory working with the USCMS group on the construction of the Forward Pixel Detector as well as software development for the CMS experiment at CERN. In addition I am affiliated with the experiment located at FNAL. To find out more about my professional work, please see my CV (pdf).

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah (no, I am not a Mormon) and moved to Texas where I was married to my wonderful wife, Tonya, in December 1997. I don't have any children but am the proud parent of a Miniature Schnauzer who goes by the name of Jesse James and a Fancy coffee colored rat known as Bella. I am an avid fan of Fantasy/Sci-Fi in all of its forms and a self-proclaimed Anglophile.
