FPD Page

This page will lead you further into my work on the Forward Proton Detector. The FPD is a completely new sub-detector for DØ for Run II. Its purpose is to detect the passing of intact protons/anti-protons near the beam that are coming from the interaction region. In order for this to happen, the particles would have had to undergo what is known as a diffractive process. It is not entirely clear what is causing this to happen, but there are competing models and that is one of the goals of this detector: to determine which model best fits the data.

From this page, you can go to the particular areas of the project where I have some responsibility. You can also get to other FPD pages if you are further interested in the project.

At the bottom are some links to talks on general FPD progress that I have given.
