Fred's PreShower Documentation FPS Version 1 of the Forward Preshower Trigger Design dated October '97. Slides from a May '98 discussion on the FPS L1 Trigger. CPS A November '97 informal note on how the Central Preshower Trigger would be added to the baseline FE design. A February '99 note on how the matching of tracks from the CFT to the clusters of the Central Preshower could be added to the Digital FE board design. It updates and expands the '97 note. Charge Division The two preshower detectors, forward and central, each split the analog charge from the VLPC into two ranges. This split extends the dynamic range of the SVX digitization and it give two possible thresholds per channel. Calculation of the charge division into two SIFT channels and where to set thresholds. Latest version dated 28-Aug-98 [See the next note for an update.] An exploration of how the charge splitting might be done for the PS detectors. A NOMINAL splitting of 20% / 4% is explored as is a splitting of 30% / 10%. The latter allow simultaneous 5 and 3 MIP thresholds on each channel. Note is dated 30-Sep-98.
