October 29th 2002 CFT Trigger Commissioning Meeting

hardware (Jamieson, Steve)

More of the new transition boards are being built. We are still waiting for the paper work so that the second DFE power supply can be sent out for repair.

Mixer (Yurii)

Yurii is thinking about ways to improve the firmware database. It will still be flat file based (not LDAP), but more information will be stored, and scripts will be more powerful.

Sequencer

George reports that a strong correlation between Sequencer monitoring access and data corruption has been discovered. Currently all Sequencer monitoring is disabled. The exact mechanism is under study at the CTS.

The mode 0 (D0 SVX) VRB format is being changed; this can affect the online examine (in SVX data mode).

Readout & Examine

The offline efficiency study effort needs to be organized. A core group is in place. Once the tools and the program are better understood, the ID groups will be contacted.

Kyle reports a problem with the byte-order in the examine. Apparently there are inconsistencies in the data themselves, and the manual byte-order override is not working.
Accomodation should be made for additional information being encoded into the first four bits of each L2 -> L3 record. Currently Thei plans to use these bits in the STOV/STSX.
Mike's examine modifications (see last week) will hopefully go into p13.2.

L2 support

The senders on the new transition boards do not seem to be working; the wrong bit order was given to Qichun and Thei.
Tick&Turn is working now, but with the tick arriving at the STT at aa non-zero offset to the tick number read from the SCL.

L1CTT

We still observe the CTTT 'transmit enable' output moving around with each initialization of the L1CTT chain at the CTS. Debug signals are being put on test headers on the (old) transition board. The varying delay has been traced back to the link synchronization stage of the CTOC (L1FE firmware). Satish is producing a sequence of new versions with feedback from the CTS.
