October 22nd 2002 CFT Trigger Commissioning Meeting

hardware (Jamieson, Steve)

Several new transition boards were installed during an access; all old TBs in the DFES, CTQD and STSX systems were removed, to allow testing of the new boards in their final configuration before the installation access.

The rest of the bare transition boards are expected this week at SiDet.

Mixer (Yurii)

The Mixer firmware initialization from DFE_WARE has been disabled (to prevent mishaps). Yurii has implemented several CTS handling modifications, and is working on documentation.

L1CTT

We observe the CTTT 'transmit enable' output moving around with each initialization of the L1CTT chain at the CTS.

L2 support

The receiver DAV signal looks qualitatively better with the new sender transition boards. Tick&Turn is being fixed in the DFES firmware.

Carsten recommended waiting for his return, and against trying to compile a different version of his firmware ourselves.

The DFEA L2 firmware ran without problems through 50 events in the software testbench.

Readout & Examine

Mike reported that he upgraded the examine from using a memory map to using sockets. He also implemented histogram resets, allowing for three groups of histograms with different accumulation periods.

Kyle reported that the octant numbers all appear to be set to zero in the current firmware. More data should be taken once the firmware can use the new transition boards.

Discriminator Studies

MC debugging is going well. The current emphasis of the studies is on hot/cold regions and VSVX data.
