Fermilab supports an extended running period of the Tevatron with the design goal of delivering a total integrated luminosity of 8 fb-1 to both collider experiments at the Tevatron. To maintain and enhance its physics capabilities, the DØ experiment will install a Layer 0 silicon detector inside the current silicon detector.

The conceptual design proposal can be found at this as a doc file (17 MB) and pdf file (5.4 MB). All the material presented at the Layer 0 workshop can be found under the Review link under Documentation.

Meeting transparencies and minutes are available on the D0 agenda server.

High energy physics research is performed to understand the nature of matter at the most fundamental level and to explore the evolution and fate of the universe through fundamental interactions of energy, matter, time and space. The high energy physics experiment for which the detector described here is being built is conducted at the world's highest energy particle accelerator, the Tevatron proton- antiproton collider at Fermilab.
