Fiber Tracker Meeting Minutes
January 06, 2003 - 10am, farside
- Current Status : Borcherding
- boards were swapped over the holidays
- Mike has fixed some boards, but is going on vacation for a couple of weeks
starting this week
- new procedure: run CTS at least once a week to keep spares "fresh". Make it
a shifter task? Hope that the problem will be solved by board shakedown
(problem is loose solder, etc.)
- CFT Status : Warchol
- talk slides
- "latched" boards can recover?
- George: a bayonette has gone missing -
need to figure out where it went
- Drew: Did a count of "dead" channels while on shift. Before there were 29
dead channels. Now there are 208, of which only 8 are part of original 29
- Fred: talked to Russ yesterday - making arrangements to warm up the test
cassette and see what kind of gases it lets off.
- VLPC Cassette update : Ginther
- slides unavailable
- estimates done of gas permeation rates - probably should have pumped and purged
during last warmup.
- Russ found out that nitrogen does in fact contract when frozen
- no large leaks found in the lid when 'sniffer'ed
- one VLPC recovered between May 27 and June 22 - plot of May 31
- another VLPC became unresponsive during this period, but recovered in
fall shutdown
- really recommend against unshceduled warmups right now.
- showed plot of pressure dip (10/22/2003) and temperature
at about same time
- CFT light yield update : Boeriu
- CTT Status : Stefan
- put in partially right map for thresholds, but ran into a problem with names.
Jadzia: you can't rename things. You can only delete and create new
- no new problems, just running into old problems again
- control over the system seems to be getting more unresponsive...?
- keep having L2 problems - not all due to our mistakes
- have new diagnostic tools in firmware
- new single and dual electron terms are in
- want to take another special run to get zero bias events to test crate x13 output
- currently at a point where want to start to optimize -
where do we want to be?
