Fiber Tracker Meeting Minutes
July 15, 2003 - 10am, Farside
- CFT Electronics Status : Borcherding
- quite a few boards have been modified to remove unused channels and up speed to 53MHz
- currently testing
- look good at 40MHz
- data quality has been pretty good
- only problem is SBC FEBs
- Drew: problem appears to be in the kernal code. Experts are hoping that they are somehow
overwriting the kernal, otherwise it can't be fixed
- happening about twice a shift, usually lose about 2 minutes each time
- not this group's responsibility (falls to DAQ people)
- Tracking Update : Kharchilava
- Avto was not present, but others commented
- Alan: there was a meeting last week about incorporating timing info into the MC.
Attendees were Alan, Geunadi and Sasha. The effort is getting started.
- Drew: Jim was on owl shift last week and was bugged three times about a dip in the
CFT-only tracking plot. Drew told them to pay attention to the global tracking
and not worry much about the CFT-only tracking. Just double check the vertex
examine to be sure nothing is wrong.
- Remember there is a difference between the vertex examine and the global examine
- Vertex examine "CFT-only" - entries here mean an SMT hit was not found
- Global examine "CFT-only" - more intuitive definition - tries to make tracks
from CFT hits only
- CTT status : Makoto
- talk slides
- no serious problems this week
- hot CPSA clusters - probably the board. It's a candidate for swapping
- Stefan: looking at first data taken with triggerlist 12.1 (recoed over the weekend).
Rate is within 10-20% of what expected, but would like to understand it better.
- AoB : Bruce
- Z measurement testing done - note due out later this week
- working on ?? now
- Fiber Tracking R&D in the UK : Ken Long
- Alan: has been funded in the UK
- prototype test scheduled on our test stand
