Fiber Tracker Meeting Minutes
May 20, 2003 - 10am, Farside
- Aside : Fred
- CFT examine plot
- plot does not seem to have enough channels to be "all" channels
- see even-odd effect - it's worse than we thought
- scaler runs on 53MHz clock, but it counts both the leading edge
and falling edge so it's rate is essentially doubled leading to structure
- need to correct for this?
- at least it seems uniform across the crate
- Yurii has a smoothing function
- there was a summer student that did something different
- CFT Electronics Status : Rubinov
- was on owl shift - absent
- Calibration/data quality : Warchol
- talk slides
- page 1 : green - fixed; red - tried to fix and failed; black - not attempted yet
- 7B5 module temperature oscillations fixed by removing and replacing the bayonette
- page 5 : problem with cassette?
- bottom plot is in VLPC space; usually if the problem is latched VLPCs, they
are in a group here, but not this time
- two colors are two different boards tried
- cft examine
- work to create SVX hits only hit maps
- also after applying SVX "reco" thresholds
- crate x53
- taken out because it was missing events
- init VRBC + reinit VME usually fixes problem
- had hoped new design in VRBC boards would fix this, but it looks like they won't
- FPD "talking points"
- currently two FPD boards are disabled
- FPD people have been asking CFT shifter to do stuff; in most cases it is not necessary
or not part of our shifter's job. If they hassle you, call Fred
- 7A5 - if alarms are intermittant, then leave it; if not, turn down the temperature
- we currently have 29 disabled alarms - most believed to be read-back circuit problems
- CTT status : Tomoto
- talk slides
- new firmware produced higher rates in a couple places,
so we are still running the old version for now
- CTT examine - looks like a large memory leak coming from tsim_l1ft;
Mike Cooke will investigate
- When will Mike be here? should be by the 1st of June
- Status and plans : Borcherding
- Overall
- Combined Test Stand (CTS)
- got CTS back on line (mostly)
- SBC had wrong base address
- VRBC/SCL was bad
- why these problems brought down the CTS is a mystery
- prepared 2 VRBC boards for tests
- will test new hardware/firmware in 0x52 and 0x53, but will keep
old boards ready to go back in if there are problems
- no AFE board swap
- FPD
- need to decide proceedure for dealing with FPD calibration -
Jadzia will work on this
- power outages coming up to replace tower
- beams division is hoping to run between outages
- we would like platform access to do some work
- (later email from Dmitri says there will be no beam and supervised access)
- disabled alarms
- if the captain gives shifter any grief about these, page Fred
