Fiber Tracker Meeting Minutes
May 6, 2003 - 10am, Farside
- Calibration/data quality : Warchol
- overhead slides
- 4B6 behaved itself this past week
- CA5 did too
- 9A5 SVX0 - hole in global layer 10
- plot on page 2
- tracks phi have hole too - page 3
- bad chip - before and after swap plots, so swap worked (page 4)
- shows need to improve cft examine because it was not showing a problem
- think "fired fibers" is actually OR of disc and SVX instead of just SVX hits
- would also like to see hit maps with calibration applied
- working on improvements, but expert is not local and package is dependent on reco
- new during last week - page 6
- east cryo temp lowered again
- plot of heater current - page 7
- light red = west-most cassette in east cryo
- oscillating temp on 7B5, module 8
- cryo temp plot - page 8
- also showed heater current plot
- have you tried replacing board?
No, do you think it's worth it? yes
- disabled alarm on 12A +12V PS
- plot of voltage over time - page 9
- checked output on platform and it looked ok, but that could have been during
one of the "good times" -> problem is in readback?
- decision to disable alarm was made by the shift captain - is this a problem?
YES!! Only the expert (Jadzia) should disable an alarm.
Shifters should never disable alarms!
- also saw some temp variations in 4B1 and 5A5 - plot
- disappearing split pedestals
- board was on list to be replaced, but they've gone away as of May 1
- plot of RMS - black is earlier run, red is later
- plot of pedestals
- list of bad boards - page 11
- CFT Electronics Status : Rubinov
- Drew pointed out the key - difference in capatance makes a difference
- complaint - there is no way to look at data on CTS
- looked at 15 runs and did not see any tick-to-tick dependence
- channels that are bonded on the board should show same problem, but don't at least at phase V
- suspect a grounding issue at the cryostat
- Alan: left-right assymetry? no idea what problem is, but can see it on CTS
- one board which was showing badly split peds on the platform was brought up, but it looks fine on CTS
- Drew: what about slot 50 in cryo? nothing has been done about it yet
- Alan: test cryostat? Juan: working on it - still trying to get the cryo itself set up correctly; have not cooled it down yet
- CTT status : Brigitte
- overhead slides
- note to shifters: change in And/Or terms mapping!!
- trigger manager is now in final configuration, but only 48 of the 64 bits are enabled - page 2
- trigger manager power supply developed problems Fri. (started tripping) - page 3
- when this happens, you have to take crate x14 out of the run
- trip current upped from 2A to 4A, but the cause is still not known
- note: crate x14 is in 3rd floor MCH; trigger manager power supply is on the platform
- not included in slides:
- still waiting on code patches for fiber mismatches
- last Thursday, clock gen on A layer of CFT was changed,
but have not been able to check it yet because of the crate x14 problems
- Status and plans : Borcherding
- overhead slides
- still all kinds of problems with combined test stand (CTS), but have gotten 4 slots working
- that's enough to limp through the work needed
- L1 deadtime - one modified board has passed CTS and ready for platform
- Alan: Any work being done on 1553 LED controller?
Not too sure, expert not sure if it will be ready on time
- July shutdown plans - page 2
- Merge Shifts with SMT? - page 4
- Drew: in reference to study of CPS MIPs before and after timing change
- thresholds applied in unpacker were screwed up so don't believe that report
- Abid: Bug found in track propagator code
- Jadzia: Yurii has a lot of LED info about timing change if anyone wants to take a look at it
- No meeting next week
