DFEA firmware update for remote monitoring:
Jamieson installed new DFEA firmware that puts
more diagnostic information on the front panel LEDs,
and allows remote reading of this information.
(Note added 2002-6-27: Yurii included a corresponding feature in DFEware.)
AFE-Mixer link tests after last access:
Makoto found two problem links, 6A4-3 and 9A5-1.
These will be investigated during the next access.
PW03-2 status:
One of the CTOCs in PW03-2 has the master clock
missing (bad link 2). This will be investigated during the next access.
AFE pipeline/clock pattern studies:
The 264 ns clock
cycle (2 out of 3 clocks in acquire mode) seems to work in the CTS.
Fred will proceed with testing on the platform after the next access. (Note
added 2002-6-27: Sequencer FW was installed Tuesday evening, and tested yesterday.
No results yet.)
L1CTT:
The CTOC and CTTT designs are downloaded and installed. The current firmware sends TTK terms for the first 10 crossings (out of 142). Jeff Temple will assist Levan and Carsten on operation of the CTTM. (Note added 2002-6-27: A first attempt to look at the MTM has been made; Levan will install new CTTT firmware that sends data for all 142 bunch crossings.)
The PW03-2 problem is still
not completely understood. It does not seem to be the compact flash (exchanged
on last access). File corruption occurs in 1/3 of all downloads, and starts
in the middle of a file (as opposed to being extra data tagged onto the end
of the file). Yurii has implemented automatic file checksum testing and redownload
in DFEware.
File database: Yurii is starting to look into storing bookkeeping info in
an (LDAP) database.
L2CTT, L2STT, L2CPS:
L2 CTOC: Carsten found and
fixed a timing problem. A general check (in all firmware) will be done for
a potential (rare) clock problem.
STOV/STSX (Theij et al.): chain tests at the CTS were mostly successful
(datapump -> STOV/STSX -> FIC).
CTQD: Steve would like to load firmware to the four platform CTQDs.
He will assist Yurii with this.
DFES: Quichun has new maps implemented, and will test them next time
he comes to FNAL.
Offline Verification:
Runs were conducted with L1CTT (crate x13) readout
(158000, 158002, 158005). In general, data are present, though not (at first
glance) in the format expected from the CTOC. This seems to indicate that
L1 accepts do indeed make it through the
AFE-DFEA-CTOC system. Only occasionally (every few minutes) would the crate
go front-end busy. Unfortunately the opportunities to investigate this further
are pretty rare. (Due to the coupling of L1CTT via Sequencer crate 3 with
the CFT axial and CPS crates x50 and x52, and the nature of the problem (FEB),
studies involve disrupting the run that
includes the CFT SVX readout.)
Examine problems when connected to the event distributor persist (reading
raw data files
works fine).
Work to improve matching between L3 sender (Satish) output and Examine expectations
(Kyle) is under way.
Trigger Equations:
Graham has created a new set of trigger equations that take more
(the last?) as-built geometry features into account, and should eventually
bump the trigger efficiency from 90% to 100%. The equations will be tested
in the simulator. Once testing has succeeded, they will be compiled, and
scheduled for installation (direct to compact flash) during a future access.
Plans:
See individual sections.
